Mark M. Lawson

Mr. Lawson's practice of over 45 years includes traditional labor law practice, employment law litigation, and transactional work for business and industry, including municipal government entities and boards. He was instrumental in establishing the firm's labor and employment law practice. He has appeared before state and federal courts and agencies, including those outside the Tri-Cities (Bristol/Kingsport/Johnson City) regional area.

Mr. Lawson has substantial experience before the National Labor Relations Board, and he represents management in union organizing campaigns and collective bargaining. He has appeared in appellate courts on numerous occasions and he is admitted to the bar of the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Lawson has been active in establishing and maintaining the firm's Employment Lines seminar series and newsletter.

Mr. Lawson has regularly represented clients in business transactions, including acquisition/disposition of assets and entities. He also has worked regularly with various municipal entities and boards dealing with intergovernmental and constituent matters, financings, condemnation, and personnel issues.

Mr. Lawson has been deeply involved in the Bristol Community for many years, and he has served on numerous organizational boards including Girls, Inc., Sullins Academy, Bristol Family YMCA, Theatre Bristol, and Kingsport Theatre Guild. He is active in his church, Christian Science Society of Bristol, Tennessee.
