Ms. Bellamy received her undergraduate degree from the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, and her law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law in Charlottesville, Virginia. Ms. Bellamy, who hails from Southwest Virginia, began her practice in Texas, where she clerked for a federal trial judge in the Southern District of Texas and practiced commercial litigation as well as estate and probate law before returning to her home state.
