Ms. Figueiras is licensed to practice in
Virginia, Tennesse, and the
District of Columbia . In 1987, she received her Bachelor of Arts in Education degree, magna cum laude, from Virginia Tech, and in 2000, she received her Juris Doctor degree from The College of William and Mary's Marshall-Wythe School of Law. While at William & Mary, Ms. Figueiras was elected to the Order of the Coif and the Order of Barristers, and served as Notes Editor for the William and Mary Law Review.
After serving as a judicial clerk to the Hon. James T. Turner of the United States Court of Federal Claims for the 2000-2001 term, she practiced law with Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, LLP in
Washington, DC before joining Elliott Lawson & Pomrenke, P.C.
Ms. Figueiras practices commercial law, handling contractual and litigation matters. Her practice includes labor and employment litigation, including employment discrimination and sexual harassment; government and commercial contracting matters; general contract litigation; and immigration law.
In her spare time, Ms. Figueiras enjoys spending time with her family (including her bichons), and building and collecting dollhouses and miniatures. A native of
Russell County,
Virginia , Ms. Figueiras resides with her husband, Jorge Figueiras, in
Bristol, Tennessee .
